Heartland AMBUCS Helps Local Boy Gain Independence with Adaptive Tricycle
In a heartwarming display of community support, six-year-old Maverick McKinney recently received an Amtryke Adaptive Tricycle, a gift that will significantly enhance his mobility and independence. This incredible act of kindness was made possible through the collaborative efforts of physical therapist Paige McGehee and the AMBUCS national organization.
The Role of AMBUCS in Empowering Lives
McGehee, formerly with the Wendell Foster Center, recognized that Maverick would greatly benefit from an Amtryke Adaptive Tricycle, a specialized piece of equipment designed to provide children with disabilities the freedom and joy of riding a bike. Understanding the impact this could have on Maverick’s life, she took the initiative to reach out to AMBUCS, a national organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. AMBUCS, short for American Business Clubs, is a non-profit organization with chapters across the country. They are known for their work in providing Amtryke Adaptive Tricycles, building ramps, and offering scholarships to therapy students. Their mission is to inspire mobility and independence for those who need it most.
Heartland AMBUCS Chapter Steps In
The Heartland AMBUCS Chapter, based in Hardin County, quickly responded to McGehee’s request and stepped in to assist. Their generosity ensured that Maverick received his very own Amtryke, tailored to his specific needs.
A Community Making a Difference!
Maverick’s new tricycle symbolizes the community’s support and is a testament to the life-changing work that organizations like AMBUCS do every day. As Maverick pedals his way to greater independence, the Heartland AMBUCS Chapter and Paige McGehee can take pride in knowing they have made a lasting difference in his life.
